Borussia Dortmund get their season underway with a tricky away game against MSV Duisburg. We look at three talking points ahead of the game.

The first round of the DFB Pokal is upon us and Borussia Dortmund are set to go up against third division side MSV Duisburg on Monday. Lucien Favre faces a number of big decisions ahead of the game, which comes just five days before the Black and Yellows’ Bundesliga opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Duisburg will be no pushovers, as they will be aiming to pull off an upset against their more illustrious opponents. Borussia Dortmund have high ambitions, and after being knocked out in the third round in each of the last two campaigns, they will be looking to make it to the final this season.

The two teams met during pre-season as well, with Borussia Dortmund enjoying a 5-1 win in the 60 minute game. Although with more on the line, Monday’s game could be a much tighter affair. Here are some of the talking points ahead of the game.
