Players to Watch

Fresh after hitting three goals in two games for Norway, Erling Haaland will be aiming to continue his excellent scoring run as he gets ready to lead the line for Borussia Dortmund in his first full season with the club. His form will be crucial to the Black and Yellows’ title bid this season, so if he can get off to a good start they’ll undoubtedly be better off.

We are set to see the return of Marco Reus, more than seven months after his last game in competitive football. The Borussia Dortmund captain scored an impressive solo goal in the pre-season friendly against Sparta Rotterdam earlier this week. He is still working his way back to full fitness, but a goal against Duisburg will go a long way in helping him with his confidence.

With last season’s top scorer Moritz Stoppelkamp likely to miss out, the responsibility of being Duisburg’s main attacking threat will fall on Vincent Vermeij. The Dutch striker scored 16 goals last season, and has been in excellent form during pre-season.
