Emre Can (6/10)

While Can had a decent game, he did make some small mistakes, and was late for a couple of his duels with Ahmet Engin. The German international was always looking to get forward and join the attack and was largely assured with the ball at his feet.

Mats Hummels (6.5/10)

Hummels captained Borussia Dortmund with Marco Reus starting on the bench, and he led the defence without any problems. With the Black and Yellows enjoying the majority of the ball, Hummels was able to play his trademark long balls forward, finding a teammate with ten of his 14 long passes. Defensively he had everything under control, but a tougher test awaits his team on Saturday.

Manuel Akanji (6.5/10)

Akanji wasn’t really tested defensively, but was almost always in the right position and played some intelligent forward passes to help out with the build up play.
