Raphael Guerreiro – 84 Overall

Raphael Guerreiro was finally able to enjoy an injury free season with Borussia Dortmund, and the results were spectacular. Although his numbers weren’t earth shattering he still put up some great stats for a left-back. And those stats don’t even tell the full story of how good he is.

In 29 league games, Guerreiro racked up 8 goals and 3 assists. Once Lucien Favre made the switch to the back three and starting playing Guerreiro in the wing-back role he became a completely different player. Guerreiro is without a doubt one of the best left backs in the world but continues to be underrated by those who don’t watch the Bundesliga.

Similar to Haaland, Guerreiro’s 84 rating isn’t horrible but compared to players in similar positions it doesn’t make sense for him to get the downgrade. Especially for defenders it’s not all about stats but for the purposes of FIFA that’s realistically what they base most of their ratings on.

Both Alex Sandro and Ricardo Pereira got an 85 rating in FIFA 21, boasting a combined 4 goals and 5 assists between the two of them. They are by no means better than Guerreiro.
