Can Borussia Dortmund get their season off to a good start?
With Borussia Dortmund facing two games a week for the majority of the season starting from October, the importance of getting off to a good start in the Bundesliga will not be lost on Lucien Favre and co. The Black and Yellows have taken great strides over the last two years, and now have a very balanced squad filled with highly rated youngsters and experienced internationals.
Beating Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title certainly won’t be an easy task, as the Bavarians haven’t lost a game since the turn of the year, and go into the new season having just won the UEFA Champions League. But if Borussia Dortmund are to have any chance, they must maintain their consistency throughout the season. A poor first half of the season really hurt Dortmund last year, and they simply cannot afford to make the same mistakes this time around.
In order to take the title away from Bayern, these are the sort of games Borussia Dortmund need to be winning. And if they want to lift the Meisterschale this season, getting their season off to a good start is imperative.
