Will Lucien Favre keep his faith in Gio Reyna and Jude Bellingham?

Gio Reyna and Jude Bellingham were Borussia Dortmund’s standout performers during pre-season. And their excellent displays helped them earn a spot in the starting line up for Monday’s DFB Pokal tie against MSV Duisburg. The duo took their chance well and played a key role in helping their side earn a 5-0 win over the third division side.

Bellingham was Borussia Dortmund’s best player for the 45 minutes he spent on the pitch, and his goal helped him become the club’s youngest ever goalscorer. Reyna also impressed in the win, and found the back of the net with his deflected free kick.

The two 17 year olds have now given Lucien Favre a big selection headache ahead of the Bundesliga opener. And it will be interesting to see if he keeps the faith in the two talented youngsters, or if he goes with a more experienced player for the key game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
