Can Borussia Dortmund continue their excellent record against Gladbach?

Lucien Favre and Borussia Dortmund have a near perfect recent record against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Black and Yellows have won their last 11 games against the Foals, with their last defeat coming all the way back in the 2014/15 season. In those 11 games, Dortmund have scored 30 goals and have let in just eight.

Returning Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus also has an exceptional record against his former club, with nine goals and six assists to his name in 12 appearances against them.

The two teams met three times last season, and Borussia Dortmund won all three games. Head coach Marco Rose said after his side’s defeat to Der BVB in March, “I’m just glad we don’t have to face Dortmund again now.”

Rose will be hoping that fourth time is the charm for him against Borussia Dortmund. Gladbach have certainly bolstered their squad this summer, and look set to fight for a spot in the top four. Beating them won’t be easy, but if Borussia Dortmund can get the three points on Saturday, it will be a massive early confidence boost for them.
