Centre-Backs: Emre Can, Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji

With how well Borussia Dortmund played against Duisburg, it’s hard to see Favre switching from the back three to a back four with the competition ramping up. After Dortmund kept a clean sheet against Duisburg, Favre isn’t very likely to make too many changes, especially to the back line.

Emre Can, Mats Hummels and Manuel Akanji should make up the Dortmund back line once again as they take on a much higher level of competition. They were hardly tested on Monday, but could be in for a busy evening against a very talented Gladbach attack.

If Favre is going to rotate, the only realistic option would be bringing Lukasz Piszczek on in place of Emre Can. The veteran Pole came on to replace Thomas Meunier in the second half on Monday.
