Borussia Dortmund began their Bundesliga campaign with a hard fought 3-0 win over top four rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Gio Reyna gave Borussia Dortmund the lead in the first half, before Erling Haaland scored twice after the break to seal the three points in the first game of the season at the Westfalenstadion in front of 10,000 supporters. The Black and Yellows weren’t always at their best, but clinical finishing and solid defending helped them get the all important victory.

Lucien Favre will certainly have been pleased with his side’s play on the counter attack, as Borussia Dortmund enjoyed their 12th successive win over Gladbach in all competitions.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 3-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Roman Bürki (7/10)

It was a well deserved clean sheet for Roman Bürki, who made an excellent double save in the first half with the scores still level. He was hardly tested in the second half, but was solid whenever called upon.
