RB Leipzig 3-1 Mainz 05

RB Leipzig put in a stellar performance on Sunday, beating Mainz 3-1, however the score line could’ve been much bigger in favour of Julian Nagelsmann’s side. Early goals from Emil Forsberg and Yussuf Poulsen put last season’s Champions League semi-finalists ahead and had Die Rotten Bullen in complete control going into the break.

Mainz pulled one back with their only shot on target all afternoon through Jean-Philippe Mateta, but just three minutes later midfielder Amadou Haidara scored for the second consecutive game to double Leipzig’s lead and seal a comfortable win.

Wolfsburg 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen began life without Kai Havertz with a goalless draw against a resilient Wolfsburg side. Both teams had the chances to break the deadlock, but there were no goals in what was a cagey encounter.
