Borussia Dortmund began their 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign with a convincing 3-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach in front of 10,000 fans.

Opening day at the Westfalenstadion is always a special day for Borussia Dortmund, fans and club alike. Their opening game of this season was made even more special as 10,000 fans were allowed into the stadium for the first time since start of the COVID-19 pandemic back in March, and they weren’t left disappointed.

The Black and Yellows gave their returning fans a feast of attacking football to enjoy as they came away 3-0 winners against a side they’ve had a very good record against in recent years, extending their winning streak against Gladbach to 12 straight wins, an impressive number of victories to boast.

This one will be one of the sweetest, as Dortmund were out to lay down a marker after Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich thrashed Schalke in their opener at the Allianz Arena. Dortmund and Gladbach went toe to toe in the first half, but a late opener for the Black and Yellows courtesy of Gio Reyna set them up for a much stronger and dominant second half. Let us take a look at some of the key talking points from Dortmund’s crucial victory.
