Felix Passlack could be set to stay at Borussia Dortmund after his impressive performance against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.

Few would have expected Felix Passlack to be a Borussia Dortmund player beyond the end of the transfer window, let alone appear in the opening game of the Bundesliga season. But the full-back ended a three year wait to play for his boyhood club once again when he came on from the bench to replace the injured Thorgan Hazard in the first half against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Passlack put on an impressive performance, and came very close to getting a goal and an assist. He earned praise from both head coach Lucien Favre and sporting director Michael Zorc after the game. And now Kicker report that the BVB bosses are not looking to sell the 22 year old in this transfer window.

Passlack, who made his Borussia Dortmund debut in 2016, saw his career get derailed with injures and disappointing loan spells at Hoffenheim and Norwich City. But after returning to Borussia Dortmund this summer, he impressed those in charge during pre-season training with his hard work. He was rewarded with a place on the bench for the opening game of the season. And when his chance arrived, he took it really well.

Michael Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten on Sunday, “I was personally very happy for him, he was rewarded for giving his best from the first day of training. He did his job really well. We are glad that he is with us.”

Kicker also say that Passlack’s chances of getting more opportunities in the team have skyrocketed following his performance on Saturday. And with Thorgan Hazard now expected to be out for weeks, Passlack could find himself in the starting XI at left wing-back for this weekend’s game against Augsburg.
