Jadon Sancho is happy at Borussia Dortmund, and there is no chance of him leaving this summer, Sebastian Kehl has confirmed.

Despite Borussia Dortmund’s insistence that Sancho will not be sold this summer, media outlets in England have continued to run stories linking the forward with a move to Manchester United. Now Borussia Dortmund head of licensed players department Sebastian Kehl has said that the 20 year old may leave the club one day, but it won’t be this year.

"Speaking at the 19:09 Talk with Ruhr Nachrichten, Kehl said: “He is our player – and he will stay here. It was an important statement from the club, because we have a certain responsibility.  We agreed that we needed to show a certain stance. And 80 million euros is simply not enough for a player of his quality. We owed it to the club and the fans. Without Jadon this team is weaker.”"

The Borussia Dortmund bosses had set an asking price of 120 million euros and a deadline of August 10 for the Manchester United target. But after no bids came in, they put their foot down, and have been adamant since then that Sancho is no longer for sale.

Sancho has also handled the situation professionally. He accepted the club’s deadline, and has never told the club that he wants to leave. And Kehl has reiterated that the Englishman is happy at the club.

"“Yes, someday he might leave for a new challenge but right now he is happy at Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Dortmund is happy to have him. Jadon has trained well and professionally. He is happy to play football.”"

Sancho has made an excellent start to the new season for Borussia Dortmund, scoring one goal and getting two assists in the first two games. With three years still remaining on his contract, the Black and Yellows are under no pressure to sell him this summer.
