Matchday two of the Bundesliga season is almost upon us, and Borussia Dortmund travel to FC Augsburg for their first away game of the season.

Borussia Dortmund scored an incredible ten goals in two games against Augsburg last season, including that memorable game at the WWK Arena in January, which resulted in a 3-5 win for the Black and Yellows. Augsburg finished last season in 15th place with 36 points, which is 33 points less than what Lucien Favre’s side accumulated.

They have started their season really well, with a 1-3 away win at Union Berlin thanks to goals from Ruben Vargas, Michael Gregoritsch and Andre Hahn. But going up against an in-form Dortmund side will be a big early test for Augsburg. They will have to be at their best as they look to keep Dortmund from scoring. Augsburg have also failed to win any of their last seven league games at the WWK Arena.

This will be an early test of Borussia Dortmund’s ability this season to not only break down teams but to have the patience to do so as well. The head to head between the two sides is massively in Dortmund’s favour, with the away side winning 12 of the 19 games played and Augsburg just registering the 2 wins.
