Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Manchester City forward Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Michael Zorc has confirmed.

Bynoe-Gittens has been heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks. Now sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed the arrival of the 16 year old from Manchester City. He will play for the Borussia Dortmund U-19s under head coach Mike Tullberg this season. And depending on how quickly he progresses, he will then be moved to the senior squad.

"Announcing his transfer, Zorc said: “Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is now with us and we are delighted that he has joined our youth team. He will play with the U19s for now. Our scouting department has done an excellent job!”“He is a highly talented offensive player, but we want him to develop quietly with us in the junior division for the time being. We don’t want the expectations to be too high right from the start.”"

Bynoe-Gittens follows in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, who left Manchester City to join Borussia Dortmund as a 17 year old in 2017. Three years later, and he is considered to be one of Europe’s best young forwards. The duo are also represented by the same agent in Emeka Obasi.

For the transfer of Bynoe-Gittens, Borussia Dortmund will only have to pay a training compensation to Manchester City, as he had not signed a professional contract with the English Premier League side.

Bynoe-Gittens only turned 16 in August, but he had been on the radar of the Borussia Dortmund scouts for a long time. Paris St. Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona were also thought to be interested in signing him, but he becomes the latest highly rated youngster to move to Dortmund.
