Jadon Sancho (5/10)

Jadon Sancho was at the front of every Dortmund chance today, he just didn’t have his usual magic that saw the plays end with a goal. Sancho created an exceptional passing play in the first half between him, Haaland and Guerreiro that almost saw him find the back of the net, he just didn’t get off the shot he wanted. He also found Haaland in the dying minutes but that shot was saved. Sancho performed well just not his usual exceptional self and lost a lot of 1v1 situations.

Erling Haaland (5/10)

Haaland wasn’t poor in this one, he just really didn’t get much service. Outside of a chance at the end of the game that was saved, denying his goal, Haaland wasn’t put in the position to score too often.

Dortmund failed over and over in their build up play with the ball rarely making it to the big man. There were a couple crosses that went right through the 6 yard box that Haaland failed to get on that could have changed the game. Something he is usually very good at, but just didn’t have the positioning today.

Gio Reyna (4/10)

By far Gio’s worst game in a Dortmund uniform so far, he failed to make any real impact on today’s game. Hummels actually found him with a few great line breaking passes through the Augsburg press, but Reyna’s first touch and turn were so slow today that he got caught every single time.

He just simply didn’t have it today and tried to make up for it a couple times drawing fouls. His penalty attempt was the worst of them, on replay showing what looked to be a clear dive. He just couldn’t cope with Augsburg’s physicality and should have been substituted at half time.

There will be better games for the young American, it’s important to remember he is only 17. Although, after this one we should see some rotation in the starting XI with Julian Brandt or Marco Reus coming in for Reyna.
