Centre Backs: Emre Can, Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji

With Dan-Axel Zagadou still injured and Lukasz Piszczek just rejoining team training this week it isn’t all that likely that Favre rotates the back line too much. He may decide to go with Piszczek instead of Emre Can as the former certainly offers more defensive reliability.

Piszczek was a revelation to end last season once Dortmund switched to the back three so having him is important for the team.

The Borussia Dortmund back line had a poor game against Augsburg and will be aiming to do a much better job against a strong Bayern attack. They will need a much better performance against Bayern and will need to limit the individual errors or else risk being exploited at will.
