Attack: Marco Reus, Erling Haaland, Julian Brandt
After making three appearances off the bench, Marco Reus could finally make his first start of the season. It will all come down to his fitness, but having been back for weeks, a return to the starting XI for Reus against Bayern would be a big boost for the squad.
Erling Haaland is pretty much the first name on the Borussia Dortmund team sheet unless he is injured or in need of a rest. He didn’t have their usual impact against Augsburg, just like the rest of the Dortmund team. But if the Black and Yellows are going to get something out of this game, he will have to be at his very best in attack.
Julian Brandt will likely complete the front three Jadon Sancho out. The German international hasn’t had the best of starts to the season, and this might be a good opportunity for him to show what he is capable of.
Bayern showed vulnerabilities in defence in their 4-1 defeat to Hoffenheim. And if the Borussia Dortmund attack can exploit those shortcomings on Wednesday, they could enjoy similar success.
