Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 1-0 SC Freiburg

Borussia Dortmund ran out 1-0 winners in a very tight game the last time these two sides met. Jadon Sancho scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game in the 15th minute. Dortmund had enough chances to add to their lead, but were unable to beat the Freiburg goalkeeper after that.

The Breisgau Brazilians had a few chances of their own, but Borussia Dortmund held on to claim a vital win over a hard to beat team.

The game, and that entire matchday, saw fan protests against Hoffenheim owner Dietmar Hopp, and matches across the country were interrupted as a result as the DFL wanted to bring the hammer down because an influential white billionaire was offended.
