Borussia Dortmund host Freiburg on Saturday as they look to get back on track in the Bundesliga after suffering a 2-0 loss to Augsburg last weekend.
Borussia Dortmund are coming off back to back losses in the Bundesliga last weekend and then the Supercup against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Dortmund lost 3-2 to Bayern in a close game that either side could have won. They had several chances to put the game away but weren’t able to take advantage.
Back to the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund will be anxious to get back in the win column. They were far from their best against Augsburg last week and need to rebound before they lose too much ground off the start. The good news for Dortmund is that Bayern also dropped points in a loss last week, keeping the two sides level on points. They shouldn’t get used to that though, Bayern don’t drop points often so Dortmund need to start putting together some wins to keep pace.
Roman Burki and Jadon Sancho are both doubts with illness, with the latter the more likely to feature against Freiburg. Dortmund will also be without Thorgan Hazard, Mateu Morey, Dan Axel Zagadou and Marcel Schmelzer.
