16 Borussia Dortmund players will be away with their respective national teams as the club football takes a two week break.
It is set to be one of the busiest international breaks ever, with a number of top teams set to play three times in the next fortnight, instead of the usual two games. Germany head coach Joachim Löw has called up four Borussia Dortmund players, with Mahmoud Dahoud receiving his first call-up for the senior side. Emre Can, Nico Schulz and Julian Brandt will also be involved, as Die Mannschaft go up against Turkey, Ukraine and Switzerland.
Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier have been named in Belgium’s squad for their friendly against Ivory Coast, and UEFA Nations League games England and Iceland. They could go up against Jadon Sancho, who is part of the England squad for their three matches against Wales, Belgium and Denmark. Thomas Delaney and Denmark will also go up against Faroe Islands and Iceland.
Raphael Guerreiro has again been named in the Portugal squad ahead of their fixtures against Spain, France and Sweden. Erling Haaland will be representing Norway as they take on Serbia, Romania and Northern Ireland. While Manuel Akanji and Switzerland will go up against Croatia, Spain and Switzerland.
Moving on to youth team call-ups, Jude Bellingham will be in action for England U-21s against Andorra and Turkey. Felix Passlack will be away with Germany U-21s as they face Moldova and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
While Youssoufa Moukoko and Luca Unbehaun have been called up by Germany U-20s for their fixture against Switzerland. And finally, Ansgar Knauff faces a double header against France with Germany U-19s.
