Marco Reus scored the only goal of the game as Borussia Dortmund enjoyed their first away win against Hoffenheim since 2012.

Substitutes Marco Reus and Erling Haaland combined after coming on to give Borussia Dortmund a hard earned win over Hoffenheim. Even though it was a tight game, the Black and Yellows had enough chances to seal a much more comfortable result in their favour both before and after Reus’ 76th minute goal.

Borussia Dortmund controlled the game with and without the ball, and ensured that Hoffenheim did not get too many clear cut chances to score. And while Dortmund seemed to be missing their shooting boots, Reus showed his composure to control Haaland’s pass and score into an empty net.

In the end, Dortmund held on to claim the crucial three points against a team they usually struggle against. Here we take a look at how the Borussia Dortmund players fared during their 1-0 win over Hoffenheim.

Marwin Hitz (6/10)

Hitz was caught in no man’s land early on, but luckily for him, Mijat Gaćinović couldn’t find the target from close range. He didn’t have to make any big stops, but was up to the task and looked alert at all times, making some routine saves in the second half.
