Youssoufa Moukoko scored his third hat-trick of the season to give Borussia Dortmund U-19s a 3-2 win over local rivals Schalke 04.
It was the Youssoufa Moukoko show once again, as the striker led Borussia Dortmund U-19s to a 3-2 win over Schalke 04. The 15 year old gave his side the lead in just the 10th minute, showing great awareness to latch onto a poor back pass before rounding the goalkeeper and scoring into an empty net.
His second goal was even better, as he controlled a cross with his chest, took a quick turn and hammered the ball into the net. He then completed his hat-trick with an excellent shot from distance, leaving the goalkeeper with absolutely no chance.
Schalke had earlier made it 1-1, and then pulled a goal back to make it 3-2, but were unable to find a late equaliser, as Borussia Dortmund U-19s made it three wins out of three in the A-Junioren Bundesliga West.
The hat-trick was Moukoko’s third of the season in just three appearances for the U-19s, taking his goal tally to nine goals. Moukoko was subjected to abuse and racist chants from Schalke supporters during the game, but he had the last laugh. After the game, Moukoko said on Instagram, “I’m proud to have been born with this skin colour, and I will always be proud #BlackLivesMatter”.
Moukoko is just one month away from being eligible to play for the senior team, and has already been training with the professionals.
The game also saw Jamie Bynoe-Gittens make his debut for the Borussia Dortmund U-19s following his summer move from Manchester City.
