Thomas Meunier (3/10)

Meunier was at fault for Lazio’s opener as he gave the possession away cheaply while trying to play the ball out of the back. He then missed a glorious chance to bring his side back to within one in the first half. His evening did not get much better in the second half, although he did finally manage to deliver an accurate cross. The Belgian international also lost the ball an incredible 27 times as his poor start to life at Borussia Dortmund continued.

Axel Witsel (4.5/10)

Witsel had a tough time against Lazio’s pressing and physicality. He looked way too slow and was often second best to his Lazio counterparts. He tried to help out with the attacking play more than he usually does, but seemed to lack the spark to hurt their defence.

Jude Bellingham (5/10)

Bellingham did not enjoy the best of Champions League debuts as he was subbed off at half time after a disappointing display. He made a few bad passes and looked a little nervous as Luis Alberto got the better of him more often than not. The defeat certainly isn’t on him though.

Raphael Guerreiro (5/10)

Guerreiro had an excellent opportunity to make it 1-1 but failed to find his feet in time and beat the goalkeeper after going being played through on goal. He misplaced a few passes and didn’t really offer the same attacking threat that we saw in his cameo against Hoffenheim. But even on a disappointing night, he managed to create some decent half-chances.
