Borussia Dortmund host Schalke in the first Revierderby of the season on Saturday in what is a must-win game for Lucien Favre’s side.

Borussia Dortmund are coming off a disappointing Champions League defeat to Lazio this week, and anything other than a win against Schalke will further increase the pressure on Lucien Favre.  Schalke has been an absolute disaster for over half a year now, going winless in their last 20 games. They are going to be desperate, especially in a derby, and Dortmund can’t come into this game taking it lightly. No matter how big of a gap in quality there is between the two sides, Dortmund still need to be ready to play.

Lucien Favre will be getting some reinforcements back with Manuel Akanji and Thorgan Hazard rejoining the squad. Dortmund are still missing Dan-Axel Zagadou with his knee injury, while Emre Can is out after testing positive for COVID-19.

Here is how Borussia Dortmund could line up.

Goalkeeper: Roman Bürki

Roman Bürki should be back in goal as they head into the Revierderby. Marwin Hitz filled in capably for him, but it looks like the Borussia Dortmund number one is ready to make his return.
