Borussia Dortmund player ratings: Haaland stars in comfortable 3-0 win over Schalke
By Tushar Bahl
Thomas Delaney (6.5/10)
Delaney was robust and solid if not spectacular. He did all the dirty work, allowing Brandt and Dahoud to play their natural game and lead the attacking play. He distributed the ball well for the most part and even sprayed some forward diagonal passes to wider areas, which is something he should do more often.
Mahmoud Dahoud (8/10)
Dahoud was one of Borussia Dortmund’s best players in the first half. He provided great energy and directness in midfield with his committed display. He looked assured on the ball and hit the bar with a thumping long range effort. The team’s attacking play looked a lot quicker today, and Dahoud’s presence was a big reason behind that. He was also solid defensively and made some important interceptions.
