Jadon Sancho (7/10)

Sancho looked dangerous for the most part and provided a brilliant assist for Erling Haaland’s goal with a well timed through ball. That assist will certainly give him some much needed confidence.

Julian Brandt (7.5/10)

Brandt loves playing against Schalke it seems, as the playmaker enjoyed another impressive evening against the Royal Blues. He was heavily involved in Borussia Dortmund’s attacking play and created a game high four big chances for his teammates. His flick before Akanji’s opener was truly incredible, and Schalke struggled to get near him at times. This is what happens when you play Brandt in a role he likes. Hopefully, Favre will have taken note.

Gio Reyna (6/10)

Schalke were very physical against Gio Reyna, as evident by the fact that he was the most fouled player on the pitch. The tactic somewhat worked for Schalke, but the 17 year old still showed flashes of his quality even though the final product seemed to be off at times. He looked to be out of gas by the time he was subbed off in the 70th minute.

Erling Haaland (8/10)

Haaland scored the second goal which effectively assured Borussia Dortmund of all three points. The goal came after a brilliant 1-2 between him and Sancho, and then he raced through on goal before chipping the ball past Rønnow and into the net. He nearly added a second soon after, but the Schalke goalkeeper made a really good save to keep the ball out. Overall, it was an excellent performance by Haaland who was really effective in the build-up play and with his hold up play.
