Erling Haaland vs Dejan Lovren
Erling Haaland and Dejan Lovren have faced each other once before. They met in the Champions League group stage last season when the former was at RB Salzburg, and the latter played for Liverpool. And it was Lovren who won the duel on that occasion, as he kept Haaland quiet before being subbed off early in the second half with Liverpool enjoying a 2-0 win.
Haaland has certainly improved since then, and goes into the game in excellent form. The 20 year old loves playing in the UEFA Champions League, and has 11 goals in just nine appearances in the competition. He is one of the most lethal strikers in Europe, and he will be aiming to keep his impressive run going on Wednesday night.
Keeping Haaland quiet will be imperative for Zenit’s chances of getting a result, and while Lovren is prone to making errors, he is certainly capable of getting the job done against the Norwegian international.
