Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to improve on their poor away form as they go up against newly promoted side Arminia Bielefeld this weekend.

Borussia Dortmund have won all four of their home games so far this season, but their away record makes for a rather disappointing reading. The Black and Yellows have lost three of the five games they have played away from the Westfalenstadion so far this season. On Saturday, they face another tricky assignment in the form of Arminia Bielefeld.

Arminia Bielefeld began their season with a draw and a win. But they have suffered defeats in each of their last three games. Last season’s 2. Bundesliga champions are currently 14th in the league table, and will be looking to take inspiration from Union Berlin’s performance last season as they aim to pull off an upset against Borussia Dortmund.

Arminia Bielefeld haven’t been in the Bundesliga since 2009, but boast an excellent home record against Dortmund, having not tasted defeat in this fixture since 1999.

Borussia Dortmund’s season so far has been a bit of a mixed bag, with performances ranging from world class to below average. Lucien Favre’s side have won all four of their games at home so far this season without conceding a single goal. Their away record isn’t as good, and this is exactly the type of fixture they usually struggle in.

But if Erling Haaland and co. are on their game, Borussia Dortmund will certainly fancy their chances of getting the three points with ease.
