Borussia Dortmund face Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday on matchday six in the Bundesliga looking to build on their strong recent run of form.
Borussia Dortmund return to Bundesliga action as they take on Arminia Bielfeld on Saturday in what could be a tough match up. Dortmund will dominate possession and need to work to breakdown Bielefeld’s low block in order to get something out of this game. Lucien Favre could look to rotate his squad once again, with Jadon Sancho, Marco Reus, Erling Haaland and Axel Witsel the potential candidates for a rest against Bielefeld.
Borussia Dortmund will once again be without two key players in Dan-Axel Zagadou and Emre Can and as a result we will likely see Favre stick with the back four in this game. Left-backs Marcel Schmelzer and Nico Schulz will also miss the game. So far the back four has looked good, with Dortmund keeping two clean sheets in as many games. However, we know all too well that the Black and Yellows can fall into defensive lapses in games they dominate possession.
Bielefeld are coming off back to back losses to Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich, conceding six and scoring two in those games. It will be interesting to see how they press Dortmund and exploit the counter attack when the opportunities arise.
