Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Club Brugge: Favre to revert to back three with Hummels out
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund continue their Champions League campaign on Wednesday as they travel to Belgium to take on Club Brugge.
With one win and one defeat in their opening two games, Borussia Dortmund have work to do in order to qualify for the Champions League round of 16. Their next assignment sees them go against Belgian Pro League champions Club Brugge, who have four points after the opening two match-days in the Champions League group stage.
Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Emre Can (COVID-19), Dan Axel Zagadou and Marcel Schmelzer (both knee). Mats Hummels will also miss the game after suffering a thigh injury against Arminia Bielefeld. While Erling Haaland is also a doubt.
Here we take a look at the side Lucien Favre could pick for Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League clash against Club Brugge.
Goalkeeper: Roman Bürki
Roman Bürki hasn’t had much to do in the last three games, but he could be in for a busier evening on Wednesday against Club Brugge’s talented strike force. With Mats Hummels missing out, Bürki won’t have the same level of protection from those in front of him, and will need to be at his very best.
