Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich: The key battles which could decide the game

Jadon Sancho is one of Borussia Dortmund’s most important players but he hasn’t quite hit the same level as he did last season so far. He’s started off the season a bit slow for his standards, but we are starting to see more and more of the Sancho magic we are used to.

Flat out, Dortmund take a massive step backwards in quality if Sancho isn’t at his best, they just aren’t the same team. But with the Englishman now slowly getting back to his best, he will be eyeing a strong performance against Bayern.

With Alphonso Davies currently injured, Sancho will likely line up against Lucas Hernandez on Bayern’s left side. It’s a bit of a boost for Dortmund that Davies will miss this contest as Hernandez is a clear step down in quality, even though he is a World Cup winner.

Davies has faced off against Sancho in the last couple of meetings between the two sides and has been able to keep him quiet. Hopefully, without Davies Sancho can have a bigger impact on the game.
