Borussia Dortmund will be sweating on the fitness of vice-captain Mats Hummels ahead of their top of the table clash against Bayern Munich.

Having won their last four games without conceding a goal, Borussia Dortmund go into their topspiel against Bayern Munich in great form. But the Bavarians have won their last nine games as well, and we could be in for quite a battle between the two sides this weekend.

Borussia Dortmund welcomed Emre Can back to team training on Thursday, but it remains to be seen whether Mats Hummels will be available to feature after suffering a thigh injury last weekend against Arminia Bielefeld. Long-term absentees Dan-Axel Zagadou and Marcel Schmelzer remain out for the Black and Yellows, who will be aiming to improve on their poor recent record against the Bundesliga champions.

Lucien Favre has switched his formation to a back four in recent weeks, but Hummels’ injury might force him to revert to a three-chain defence. Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Goalkeeper: Roman Bürki

Bürki will retain his place between the sticks, hoping to keep his impressive run of clean sheets going. The 29 year old has only let in two goals so far this season, but Bayern’s star-studded attack will certainly offer a tougher test.
