Defence: Thomas Meunier, Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels/Axel Witsel, Raphael Guerrreiro

The big question ahead of the game is whether Mats Hummels will be fit in time to feature for Borussia Dortmund. The key centre-back will certainly want to play against his former club, and the Black and Yellows are undoubtedly an inferior team without him.

If Hummels loses his fitness race, it will likely be Axel Witsel who replaces him, just as he did in the mid-week Champions League game against Club Brugge. Lukasz Piszczek and Thomas Delaney are also potential options for Lucien Favre to consider.

Manuel Akanji will be slotting in as the other centre-back, looking to build on his impressive run of form.

Thomas Meunier and Raphael Guerreiro will retain their places in the two full-back roles. Their performances, especially in defence, will be vital to Borussia Dortmund’s chances of victory.
