Erling Haaland is very happy at Borussia Dortmund and wants to help the club win trophies, his father Alfie Haaland has said.

Erling Haaland has made a stunning impact since joining Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January. His performances have already seen him attract the interest of a number of big clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester City. But Erling’s father Alfie Haaland has said that he is not looking to leave the club anytime soon.

"In an interview with Sport1, Alfie Haaland said: “When you play well, it’s only logical that big clubs knock on your door, but we’re talking about speculation here. At the moment it’s not in Erling’s or my head that another club will be vying for him. We signed a long contract with Dortmund and they have a fantastic team for Erling right now. We don’t want to look any further ahead.”"

Haaland has scored 27 goals in just 29 appearances since joining Borussia Dortmund, and his father believes that the move has worked out really well so far, and Erling is ‘super happy’ to be with the Black and Yellows.

"“In the first months it has worked out very well. Exactly as we wanted it to go. BVB is a great club for young players and a successful club. They have taken care of Erling 100% from day one. He is super happy there. It was a right and important step for Erling.”"

But despite his son’s impressive goalscoring feats, Alfie Haaland believes that he can still improve in all areas, especially in his heading skills. “Erling can get a lot more out of his height, including his header strength. But it also has to do with the way the team plays. Borussia is not the team that hits many crosses in front of the goal. They rather rely on rehearsed moves. But I agree with the critics who say that his heading skills need to be improved. But I think he can improve in all areas. He is still young.”

The former Leeds United and Manchester City player was also asked whether he thinks the 20 year old could leave Borussia Dortmund next summer. And Haaland said that at the moment, Erling’s goal is to win trophies with Borussia Dortmund.

"“You never know what will happen. We haven’t talked about making such a step yet. I think he would like to win some titles with Dortmund. That’s his goal. Erling can still achieve a lot in Germany and make great progress. Moving abroad is not a priority for us at the moment.”"

Asked about Borussia Dortmund’s chances of winning the Bundesliga title this season, Haaland said that it will be very difficult, but Der BVB have the quality to put Bayern Munich under pressure.

"“I think BVB can put the Munich team under better pressure than last season. The Dortmunders have the skills to put enough pressure on the Bavarians. But the Bavarians have been playing very consistently for months and at the moment they have the best team in the world. That’s just the way it is. It will be very difficult, but the Dortmunders will try their best. They have the mentality for it.”"
