Borussia Dortmund travel to Hertha Berlin on Saturday as they return to action after the international break. Ahead of the game, we look at three key battles that could decide the outcome at the Olympiastadion.

Erling Haaland vs Alexander Schwolow

There is no doubt that after the Bayern Munich game, Erling Haaland must have been disappointed for not scoring more than once. His normal lethal finishing in front of goal evaded him for most of the game, but one thing that did not fail him was his work rate and ability to hold up the ball, and he made sure Jerome Boateng knew he was in a battle.

On Saturday, Haaland comes up against a goalkeeper in Alexander Schwolow who has conceded 13 goals in the opening 7 games, plus five in the DFB Pokal. He has faced 33 shots on target and saved 20 of them, he certainly will not be looking forward to facing one of the hottest marksmen in all of world football at the moment.

Hertha Berlin’s leaky defence means that Haaland will get his fair share of chances, and if he has his shooting boots on, he will no doubt add to his season’s already impressive tally of 11 goals.
