Erling Haaland led Borussia Dortmund to victory with his four goal haul against Hertha Berlin, and he broke a number of records in the process.
Erling Haaland’s four goals in the 5-2 win over Hertha Berlin took his tally to 31 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian international has been scoring for fun since his January move from RB Salzburg, and he broke a number of records on Saturday evening.
- With his four goals against Hertha Berlin, Haaland became the youngest player to ever score four goals in a single Bundesliga game.
- Haaland also took his tally in the Bundesliga to 23 goals in 22 appearances, breaking the record for most goals after 22 appearances in the league. Legendary Germany and Hamburg SV striker Uwe Seeler previously held the record, with 20 goals in his first 22 appearances in the Bundesliga.
- Haaland also became only the fifth Borussia Dortmund player to score four or more goals in a single Bundesliga match, with Manfred Burgsmüller, Timo Konietzka, Michael Zorc and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang being the other four.
The 20 year old was not the only Borussia Dortmund player who enjoyed a record breaking evening in the German capital on Saturday. Youssoufa Moukoko also became the youngest ever player to play in the Bundesliga at the age of just 16 years and one day, breaking the record previously held by Nuri Sahin, who made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 16 years, 11 months and one day.
It was also a memorable result for Lucien Favre, who reached 50 Bundesliga wins in his 76th match in charge of Borussia Dortmund. No BVB coach has reached the 50 wins mark quicker than the Swiss trainer.
