Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways this past weekend after their home loss to Bayern Munich, putting in a stellar display in the 5-2 thrashing of Hertha Berlin.

The Bundesliga returned with a bang for Borussia Dortmund as Die Schwarzgelben faced Hertha Berlin away in a game where they looked to bounce back from a narrow loss to Bayern Munich a couple weeks prior. The capital club started the game strongly, and in the first half, they seemed the better team.

The 33rd minute saw Hertha take the lead at the Olympiastadion through a very strong strike from distance via Matheus Cunha. A long ball forward from Hertha keeper Alexander Schwolow made its way to Dodi Lukebakio, who quickly passed to the Brazilian forward. Cunha only took one touch to set the ball and then let fly, catching the Dortmund defence and keeper Roman Bürki by surprise. The first half ended with Hertha on top, and Dortmund looking like they were in for a long evening.

But the second half saw the Black and Yellows truly come to life. With Bayern dropping points against Werder, it was imperative for Dortmund to get a result, which they did. A Haaland quadruple and an inventive Raphaël Guerreiro finish saw Borussia Dortmund pummel Hertha in the second half. Let us take a look at some of the key talking points from this game.
