Raphael Guerreiro trained individually on Sunday, but there are fears that Borussia Dortmund could be without Thomas Meunier for a while.

Following their shock defeat to FC Köln on Saturday, Borussia Dortmund players returned to training on Sunday to begin preparations for their game against Lazio. Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash presents the perfect opportunity for the Black and Yellows to bounce back and seal progress to the round of 16.

There are question marks about both first choice full-backs going into the game. Raphael Guerreiro missed the defeat to Köln after suffering a thigh injury against Club Brugge last Tuesday. While Thomas Meunier had to be subbed off in the second half against Köln with a muscle injury. Borussia Dortmund head coach Lucien Favre said after the game that it is too early to speak about the injury status of the duo.

Now Ruhr Nachrichten report that it still remains to be seen whether Raphael Guerreiro will be in the squad for the Champions League game on Wednesday. But he did complete an individual training session on Sunday, which is a boost to his chances of playing.

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Thomas Meunier for a while though. After suffering a muscle injury against Köln, the right-back will undergo further examinations to find out the extent of the damage. The Dortmund-based newspaper reports that there are fears that Meunier will not be available, at least for the short term.

Meunier has started all 15 of Borussia Dortmund’s games so far this season. Thorgan Hazard, Felix Passlack and Mateu Morey are the potential options to replace Meunier at right-back/right wing-back.
