Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Lazio

Borussia Dortmund had a game to forget last time out against Lazio, earning a shock 3-1 defeat in Rome. It was a typical Dortmund loss as they dominated possession but were unable to break the opponent down.

A couple of counter-attacks and silly mistakes later and Dortmund found themselves two goals down, something similar to what we just witnessed over the weekend.

Ciro Immobile gave Lazio the lead against his former club, before Marwin Hitz scored an own goal to make it 2-0 for the Italian side. Erling Haaland pulled one back in the second half, but Dortmund’s hopes of a comeback eroded very quickly, as Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro went down the other end and scored to make it 3-1.
