Defenders and Wing-backs: Mateu Morey, Lukasz Piszczek Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji, Raphael Guerreiro

With Thomas Meunier out injured, Felix Passlack could switch to the right after playing at left-back on Saturday. We could also see Thorgan Hazard come into the team in a wing-back role if Lucien Favre decides to rest Passlack. The highly rated Mateu Morey is also an option, but Favre has not used him much yet this season.

Raphael Guerreiro will likely return to starting XI after missing the game on Saturday. The Portuguese international trained with the team on Tuesday, boosting his chances of starting.

If Lucien Favre goes with a back three, we could see Lukasz Piszczek come into the team as the third centre-back for his first start of the season.

No matter what formation Favre goes with, Mats Hummels and Manuel Akanji will almost certainly be in the line-up. The defensive duo have not been afforded any rest so far, and will likely play the majority of Borussia Dortmund’s seven remaining games before the turn of the year.

Both Hummels and Akanji will know that they need to do a much better job against former Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile than they did when they faced Lazio back in October.
