Erling Haaland ruled out until January with torn muscle fibre

Erling Haaland suffered a torn muscle fibre in training before Borussia Dortmund’s game against Lazio and will not be back in action until January.
Haaland was expected to start up top for Borussia Dortmund against Lazio. But the 20 year old tore a muscle fibre in the final training session before the Champions League clash, and he will now not be available until January. Haaland is Borussia Dortmund’s top scorer this season with 17 goals to his name already. No other player has found the net more than three times yet for Der BVB. So losing the star striker is undoubtedly a big blow for the Black and Yellows.
Borussia Dortmund have also announced that Emre Can is dealing with a muscle injury. The versatile German international did not train on Tuesday after injuring his foot in the defeat to FC Köln at the weekend. Thomas Meunier also suffered an injury in the Bundesliga clash on Saturday. It remains to be seen how long the duo will be out for.
In slightly better news, Raphael Guerreiro is back in the starting line-up against Lazio after missing the game against FC Köln. Dan-Axel Zagadou is also in the squad for the first time since June after recovering from his knee injury.
After their game against Lazio in the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund face a trip to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga this weekend. They then wrap up their Champions League campaign away to Zenit St. Petersburg next Tuesday, before hosting Stuttgart on the following weekend.
