Borussia Dortmund held on to claim a 1-1 draw against Lazio and secure their place in the Champions League round of 16.

Playing without Erling Haaland, who is out until January after suffering a torn muscle fibre in training, Borussia Dortmund took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Raphael Guerreiro. The Portuguese international found the net with a composed finish after some lovely play between Gio Reyna and Thorgan Hazard.

Lazio came back stronger in the second half, and had a fair few chances to get back on level terms. And their equaliser came from the penalty spot after the referee adjudged substitute Nico Schulz to have fouled Sergej Milinkovic Savic on the edge of the box. Ciro Immobile scored the spot-kick to make it 1-1. The Italian side looked more threatening after the equaliser, but Roman Bürki made some excellent saves to ensure that Borussia Dortmund did not lose the game. The draw was enough for Lucien Favre’s side to qualify for the Champions League round of 16 with a game to spare.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from the game.

Roman Bürki (7.5/10)

After a quiet few games, Bürki was heavily tested by the Lazio forwards tonight. And he stood up to the task, making five vital saves to help Borussia Dortmund earn a draw.
