Centre-Backs: Lukasz Piszczek, Mats Hummels, Emre Can

In typical Lucien Favre fashion, the Borussia Dortmund head coach did not give any indication as to whether Mats Hummels and the other injured players will take any part in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt.

So it remains to be seen who is fit and what formation Borussia Dortmund will go with on Saturday. Emre Can will likely slot into the right centre-back role if fit, otherwise Lukasz Piszczek could start his second successive game.

Favre did say that Dan-Axel Zagadou is in contention to start on Saturday, and he could come into the team if Mats Hummels isn’t able to recover in time from his foot injury. The 31 year old said on Wednesday that he should be fine in ‘a couple of days’. So hopefully, he will be ready to start. With Manuel Akanji also out, one of Zagadou or Emre Can will come into the team in his place.
