Player Ratings: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund dropped points yet again in another disappointing performance in the Bundesliga, this time against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Borussia Dortmund fell flat yet again in the Bundesliga in their game against Eintracht Frankfurt, playing out a 1-1 draw. The result makes it four out of ten Bundesliga games in which they have dropped points in, a trend that can’t continue if they want to compete for the title. Dortmund were missing some key players in Erling Haaland and Raphael Guerreiro but that can’t be an excuse with the talent and depth in the squad.
Dortmund fell behind early in this game but managed to turn the game around in the second half, finally taking control. It was too little too late though, as they were only able to earn a point. No matter how much you can turn it on and elevate your play in the second half, if you don’t show up for the entire 90 minutes, it’s not going to lead to any sustainable success.
Here are our Borussia Dortmund player ratings from the game.
Roman Bürki (5/10)
Roman Bürki wasn’t tested too often, with Frankfurt’s only shot on goal getting the better of him. The goal that was scored was not entirely on Bürki as there was a breakdown in defence, leaving Kamada open, but the BVB shot-stopper played it horribly. He decided to venture forward to challenge Kamada, who was on the edge of the 18 yard box with Emre Can closing down on him.
Had Bürki just stayed in goal Kamada would have been hard pressed to get a quality shot on goal. Instead Bürki rushed out and Kamada had so much time to place the ball into the net before the Swiss shot-stopper could get close to him.
