Mateu Morey (6.5/10)

Mateu Morey was steady on the right side and offered much more of a threat going forward than Thomas Meunier. Morey doesn’t have the physical size or experience that Meunier does, but he has the ability to get down the wing and play off the attackers in a way that Meunier can’t. With Meunier injured Morey will have a chance to show what he can do in the coming weeks. He did a decent job of keeping Kostic quiet, and linked up well with Sancho in attack.

Axel Witsel (5/10)

Axel Witsel, like the rest of the Borussia Dortmund squad, was pretty unimpressive in the first half. He hasn’t been in the best run of form lately and maybe could use a break here and there to help get some form back. He has been a mainstay in the starting lineup since joining Dortmund and it’s important he finds his form sooner than later. He struggled to drive the attacking play and never really looked like causing Frankfurt any problems.

Mahmoud Dahoud (5/10)

Mahmoud Dahoud was actually fine in the first half but as usual was the first casualty of Favre changing things up. He wasn’t a standout player, but no one was in the first 45 minutes, and it was a little surprising to see him being taken off. This season when Dahoud has been given the chance, he has impressed, it’s the opportunity that has been the issue for Dahoud as it doesn’t really seem to come all that often.

Nico Schulz (5.5/10)

Nico Schulz got a surprise start with Guerreiro ruled out due to muscular problems. The left-back hasn’t played a ton since joining Dortmund, but he’s capable of taking over when Guerreiro needs a rest. Schulz had one exceptional intervention when former Dortmund man Erik Durm got through on goal and the German international made a quick recovery followed by a vital last ditch challenge. He was barely involved in the attacking play, and didn’t come close to providing the threat Guerreiro offers.
