Gio Reyna (7.5/10)

Gio Reyna was the standout player against Frankfurt today, even before he scored his screamer in the second half. Reyna was really the only player pressing and pushing Dortmund forward in the first half. At times his passing was imprecise, but he was a constant threat to the Frankfurt defence. On top of that, the 18 year old scored a stunner in the second half that brought Dortmund level. Taking a pass from Sancho, he pushed past the Frankfurt defender on the edge of the 18 yard box and hit a fantastic strike into the top corner.

Jadon Sancho (7/10)

Jadon Sancho has had some tough luck this season, really struggling to find the back of the net. It was the same story today when he hit the roof of the net on a tough left footed curler and then just fired wide on a golden opportunity in the first half. Sancho was a completely different player in the second half, taking a much more aggressive approach. He became the creator after the break, dropping deep in the number ten role and spurring Dortmund forward which ultimately helped them find the equaliser.

Julian Brandt (5/10)

Julian Brandt had the role of filling in for the injured Erling Haaland up top in this game, which is not an easy task whatsoever. Favre has used Brandt in this position before and it just hasn’t worked out too well. He needs to be playing centrally, yes, but he just isn’t suited for the striker role. Brandt finally got to play some central midfield in the second half when Moukoko came on, which is far and away his best position. He looked much more comfortable and was more involved after the break.
