Gio Reyna’s wonder-strike rescues Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund stayed four points behind the league leaders as they could only manage a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Black and Yellows fell behind early on, with Daichi Kamada giving Eintracht the lead.

But they put in a much stronger performance after the break. And their persistence was rewarded in the 56th minute, when Gio Reyna found the top corner with a sublime finish from the edge of the box.

Borussia Mönchengladbach held by SC Freiburg

It was a tough weekend for the two Borussias as Gladbach also failed to get the three points away to Freiburg. Marco Rose’s team took the lead through Breel Embolo, but goals from Philipp Lienhart and Vicenzo Grifo helped Freiburg turn the game around.

But Freiburg’s lead only lasted a minute, as Alassane Plea equalised just one minute later to ensure a share of the spoils.
