Borussia Dortmund head back to the Champions League on Tuesday against Zenit, looking to finish top of Group F with a win.

Borussia Dortmund take on Zenit on Tuesday in the Champions League looking to bounce back after another disappointing performance at the weekend. Dortmund are winless in their last three games across all competitions. With the schedule not getting any less congested in the coming weeks, they need to turn their form sooner rather than later.

Borussia Dortmund’s task isn’t getting any easier against Zenit with the squad getting decimated by injuries over the past week. Lucien Favre ruled nine players out prior to the game. Erling Haaland, Raphael Guerreiro, Manuel Akanji, Thomas Meunier, Thomas Delaney, Mateu Morey and Mahmoud Dahoud will all miss the game. Some of those were expected but there are a fair amount of surprises on that list as well. Marcel Schmelzer remains out after his knee surgery and Reinier is still back in individual training after his positive COVID test.

Favre will need to rotate heavily out of pure necessity and we will see some players who would likely not have played. With all of the injuries, it does open up the door a little bit for Youssoufa Moukoko to see his first Champions League action. While Marco Reus and Thorgan Hazard should also feature.
