Borussia Dortmund came from behind to beat Zenit St. Petersburg and secure top spot in their Champions League group.

Borussia Dortmund were without nine first team players as they looked to make their return to winning ways after three games without a win. And they got off to a poor start yet again, as Sebastian Driussi gave Zenit St. Petersburg the lead in the 16th minute. Dortmund created a few decent chances to get back into the game, but they had to wait until the 68th minute to find their equaliser. Lukasz Piszczek was in the right place at the right time to turn the ball into the net and make it 1-1.

It was all Borussia Dortmund after Piszczek’s goal, and they were rewarded for their pressure 12 minutes from time when Axel Witsel found the bottom corner to seal the turnaround against his former club.

The Black and Yellows held on for the three points and secured top spot in Group F. Here are our player ratings from their 2-1 win over Zenit.

Marwin Hitz (7/10)

Making his first Borussia Dortmund start since matchday one of the competition, Marwin Hitz put in a confident and assured display between the sticks. The 33 year old made a number of fine saves, including a double save right at the start of the second half. He was very unlucky with the Zenit goal, as the deflection off of Hummels wrong-footed him.
